Pretty much all I ever wanted was to live a good life, be happy, do no harm, and help a few people along the way.
I guess things just kind of snowballed. (If you want the whole story with a bunch of “about me” stuff, I’ll put a click through here in the near future.)
Let’s talk about the likely reason you are here: You want to know what partnering with me as your performance coach is really like and how it could benefit you.
First, some context. When I entered professional selling nearly 40 years ago my manager warned me:
“Sales is not a place to hide, Mike. If you stay here you are going to face everything that scares you.”
Because I stuck with it, I’ve faced more scary stuff about myself and people and the way that the world works than I ever imagined I could deal with. Not surprisingly, I am attracted to people who are ready to make that kind of challenging journey.
Whether or not you are “sales” person,
I just ask that you be willing to ask and live with some tough questions.
Not everyone is ready for that.
If you aren’t ready, that’s OK.
I may not be the right guy for you.
My job as your Performance Coach is to counsel and comment and navigate with you as you sort out the answers.
Your job is to work.
If you are looking for an easy, no-lifting-required way to accomplish your goals, then I am DEFINITELY not the guy for you.
Getting what you want in life is usually not that complicated. But it generally requires WORK.
You come to me as your coach because you want to work with someone who is willing to offend. Yes, you heard that right. I frequently piss people off. Frankly, the guy who turned MY life around nearly lost his front teeth I was so upset at what he made me look at. But I owe much of my success in life to him. So, if I’m your coach, here’s what you’ll to get:
I’ll tell you the truth.
And I’ll always love you.
Even when you want to put out my lights.
So, are you ready for an extraordinary journey?
Are you willing to peek behind the curtain to see what is really possible in your life?
No? Thanks for visiting. I wish you well. Feel free to hang around.
OK, there are 3 choices you can make depending on what you are ready and willing to do.
1. You can just keep reading my site
While I teach my sales coaching clients that they need to be careful about giving away their knowledge without getting payment, more than once I’ve been accused of “always giving it away.” There is probably some truth to that. If you want to do it slow, you’ll probably find a lot of good stuff here to help you. You just have to be willing to wait and to dig.
Also, on a regular basis I’ll be making an offer to you to buy something. I have to pay the light bill, so don’t judge me too harshly. Besides – I’m a salesman, remember??
(Note: I will have a subscription link set up soon so that you can receive a notice whenever I add something new to the site.)
2. If your main focus is selling, try out the SEER
That stands for:
It takes about 15 minutes to complete the online information form and then you get a selling strengths profile that outlines your strengths and weakness in selling along with suggestions for improving. There is a free version and a paid version. Both are useful. The paid version comes with an hour of coaching to help you get on with the steps to become the best salesperson you can be. We’re still in the early stages of development but I would be coy if I didn’t say we think it’s pretty damn cool.
For more information on how to do a SEER and for pricing send an email to “mstammer at gmail dot com” with SEER in the subject line. I will contact you with the information you need.
3. Sample the Yellow
My wife and Muse, Vicki Stammer, commented that trying to explain coaching was a lot like trying to explain “yellow.”
Pretend for a moment, that you just met someone with monochromacy – they are totally color blind and only see the world in shades of gray. Now, imagine trying to explain “yellow” to them.
Coaching is like that for most people.
To address that dilemma we came up with the Free Sample of Yellow.
If you want to test the waters with me as a performance coach, then try our Free Sample of Yellow: a Navigator Session
A Navigator Session is kind of like taking a car out for a test drive, except that the car (me) is going to be:
- asking a lot of questions
- probably making a few observations
- clarifying something for you, AKA, giving you an “AHA” or two
- and hopefully giving you a clear understanding of coaching with me, i.e., showing you “yellow”
The Catch? Well, the “catch” is that you just might like it and want to hire me. (Salesman, remember?)
But if you don’t hire me, that’s OK, too.
Remember what I said up above: “Pretty much all I ever wanted was to live a good life, be happy, do no harm, and help a few people along the way.” I plan to keep doing that whether you hire me or not. So it’s cool.
